| What is the Extreme Reading Relay? |
The Extreme Reading Relay is a national awareness campaign and fundraising event where invited schools, in partnership with the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the most people reading a single book in one day. Nearly 2,000 students from schools across the U.S. will participate in this historic celebration of literacy; demonstrating that all struggling readers can learn to read successfully and become lifelong learners. The event will be streamed live via the internet for the world to see.
IDA provides each participating school and their students with all the resources and support they need to be successful both in raising awareness and in fundraising.
|
| How does the Extreme Reading Relay work? |
| Event coordinators will both establish a time to register students to participate or pass out registration forms and get them back to IDA and we will register your students. Online registration is easy and allows students to immediately access their fundraising site. Once registered, each participant will then have their own fundraising Web page where they can send out emails to family and friends to support them in the Relay. In order to read in the Relay, students will have to raise a minimum of $125. |
What is the World Record we are trying to break?
