The Israel National Affiliate of The International Dyslexia Association

Association's Activities:
  • Conventions on Academic Level - Once a year there is a convention about varied issues in the field of dyslexia and learning disabilities (new research, teaching approaches, etc.)
  • Workshops and Meetings - Held throughout the country, on many issues.
  • Newsletter Production - We produce the IDA newsletter, Perspectives, (in Hebrew) 3-4 times in a year, which includes original and translated articles and research from all over the world. In addition, we photograph and deliver to our members Annals of Dyslexia and Perspectives in English.
  • "Listening Ear" - Support line for parents, dyslexic children, students and adults.
  • "Open Line" - For professionals in the field and for people who call from abroad.
  • "Information Center" - In the association's office there is a list of about 4000 professionals in the field. Everyone who is looking for help, can get a list of people in his / her living area. We do not recommend, we give the information and the responsibility for the appeal is on the person who looks for it.
  • "Reading Room" - In the association's office there is a room that is open to every one who looks for material, without any need to pay. We have up- to-date articles and research concerning dyslexia and learning disabilities from all over the world, sorted by sub-subjects and easy to locate. Some of them are translated to Hebrew.

The association promotes the advancement of individuals with dyslexia and learning disabilities, by meeting people in the "Cnesset" (House of Parliament), in the government's offices, in the army, and so on.

Summary - The success of our association has been in promoting issues concerning dyslexia through the hard work of our volunteers. These efforts are supported by contributions and membership fees.
