A major aim of our professional association „BALT“(Professional Association of Academic Dyslexia-Therapists) is to provide current and scientifically based information about the etiology of dyslexia as well as the possibilities of dyslexia therapy to persons with dyslexia, parents and professionals who work with dyslectic people.

Since our foundation in 2002 it is our ambition to make a contribution to dyslexia educational work and the quality control of dyslexia therapy.

Another important aim is to represent the interests of the BALT-members -all professional dyslexia therapists who work mainly on the basis of the phonological deficit approach.

RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS:
Gaining a cooperation-partner in Germany: a clinic which provides an education for dyslexia therapy under the same high quality criteria (admission, scientifically qualified referents…) as the University of Salzburg did, also taking part (in form of BALT-referents, etc.) in their latest symposium.

Another recent achievement was to open the membership of the professional association “BALT” to professionals with dyslexia therapist-education equal to the one which was held at the University of Salzburg under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Karin Landerl. Our destination is to offer a platform for qualified dyslexia therapists with the possibility of professional interchange, cooperation and the representation of common interests.

SERVICES PROVIDED:
All of our members are allowed to provide therapy of dyslexia, the professional association “BALT” represents their interests:

  • Educational work in schools, the government and other institutions
  • Annual further education and workshops with Dyslexia-related topics for members and interested colleagues in other professions symposia
  • Regional groups for case supervision and professional interchange
  • Publicity relation - Homepage, Folder
  • Publication and updating of the list “dyslexia therapists - BALT”
