More than one in ten children in the United States struggle with dyslexia or other language based learning difference.

Without appropriate intervention, struggling readers have a higher probability of not completing high school. Their dreams are dashed. Their opportunities are diminished.

It doesn’t have to be this way.
IDA is committed to making a difference for all who are affected by dyslexia, in a way that creates hope, possibility, and partnership.

This past year IDA:

  • Awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to more than 100 students, teachers and parents,
  • Answered more than 16,000 requests for information, referrals and resources,
  • Addressed the full scope of dyslexia and related difficulties in learning to read and write to more than 26,000 subscribers through articles in The Examiner, our e-newsletter,
  • Directly impacted more than 28,281 individuals with dyslexia and their families through Branch outreach activities,
  • Supported 44 Branches nationally and 21 Global Partners in 18 countries, and
  • Recognized nine university programs as aligning with IDA's Knowledge and Practice Standards.

In the coming year, we want to have a greater impact. In order to accomplish this we need your help.

Make an end of year donation to support increased outreach to kids like Max, Adam, Claire, Conner and their families. Your donation will allow us to increase national awareness, change the misperceptions associated with dyslexia and destroy the social, educational and cultural barriers surrounding learning differences. Your gift will help IDA train the teachers and professionals that are on the front lines, those who work hand in hand with our students. Your support will make a significant impact on the millions of struggling readers who continue to go unnoticed with no services or chance of remediation.

The International Dyslexia Association will NEVER GIVE UP pursuing and providing the most comprehensive range of information and services that address the full scope of dyslexia and related difficulties in learning to read and write. We will NEVER GIVE UP until all individuals have the ability to reach their full potential. We will NEVER GIVE UP until every individual has the opportunity to lead a productive and fulfilling life, and society benefits from the resource that is liberated.

Join IDA in NEVER GIVING UP! Make a difference…change a life today.

Giving is easy… Click the “GIVE NOW” button to make a general, honor or memorial end of year donation using our secure online donation form.  If you prefer to mail your donation download the form here.
